Game design people, game design.
What-¦s the reward for the players with low skills? The ones that can-¦t shoot properly, that are slower or learning?
If the game only rewards people that "do" things in battle, there will be a lot of player that are not 1337 , dont do headshots, and not only will play and spend their time without any type of growth, but they-¦ll be stomped by the ones that have SP and skills.
It-¦s the perfect formula to make a lot of regular people quit, and leave the server with very few people, that will then complain about the lack of players, and that the game is boring.
The guy that shoot and get points for it is important, but so is the guy that scans the terrain and give targets to the shooter (getting no points for t), so is the guy that flies the dropship to help people get the targets (and get no point for it).
Getting rewards without doing anything is bad, but not getting rewards when doing things is way, way worse. Bad skilled people wpn-¦t play the game if they can-¦t get rewarded even after doing several things. |

If CCP cares for their players, they should ban anyone AFK ing f to farm sp from using their current profiles ever again. just wipe them. You don't HTFU by afking, you destroy the social aspect that's key to the MMO. It's like expecting a payday when you didn't bother finishing a job, and getting it.
The clearly you-¦re on the wrong match for your caliber / size.
Afking reinforces the social aspect precisely by the hatred that people have on it. People will start to group up, get a perma squad, two, will join a corp, will do corp battle with meaning. Public matches are a quickie for those that don-¦t have a group formed up, or just want to relax.
Serious business is with the corp battles, and those won-¦t tolerate AFK people in their social network.
And again, not rewarding people after they played a match, will only drive players away from the game. |

When people talk about the AFK issue, they usually go with "Only give SP to those that do things"
Then, there-¦s the issue of "What things are counted as SP worth"
There-¦s a lot of activities ingame that help the group, help win the match, but are not rewarded or glorified as a kill. That don-¦t give SP.
Piloting a dropship is one of them.
How do you solve this issue, of the ones that participate and yet recieve no rewards (SP and such) , with the proposed AFK handling, since they fall under the same "category" (People in a match not doing things worth of points)
And if you-¦re going for logical fallacy, the best is to make reference of which one. |
